After the Firaxis-splashscreen I get the following message:TERRAN caused an error in relation to an invalid page in module KERNEL32.DLL op0137:bff857e7. Registers: EAX=c00173a4 CS=0137 EIP=bff857e7 EFLGS=00010206 EBX=00c4f44c SS=013f ESP=00b4fff0 EBP=00b50060 ECX=815c9d28 DS=013f ESI=00b5025c FS=0d27 EDX=bff7678c ES=013f EDI=00b50240 GS=0000 Bytes in CS:EIP: 53 56 89 4d f8 57 8b 41 40 8b 75 08 89 45 ec 83 Stack-dump: I've tried all the usual (reduce colour to 256, directdraw=0, virusscan, re-install W95 and directx6.1)but nothing works. Demo v1.1 works fine. Could someone enlighten me, what I need to do? Thanks in advance

It's the movies. Try renaming the sound.dll to sound.dl_, do a typical install and play without the CD (if you can), and/or run DXDiag.exe and look for "!", any compatibility notes (besides no problems found), and run the tests.jkm firaxis games |

I uninstalled SMAC, reinstalled it according to the 'custom' option (no video) and renamed the sound.dll to sound.dl_. Also reinstalled directx. (My version won't play without the CD.) Then not even the splash screen would show. (Sigh) Directx only had ! with drivers I didn't use at that moment.I then downloaded the latest Hercules-drivers. Now the firaxis splashscreen showed followed by the error. Uninstalled SMAC and tried the 'typical' option. It wouldn't install... At 23% I got the following message: "An error occurred during the move data process: -115" I examined the CD but it looks clean. (I have an A-open 32x CD-ROM) I've got the feeling there aren't much options left. |

IT WORKS !!!Formatted my harddisk. Reinstalled SMAC ('typical') etc. and it works! Still don't know why it didn't work the previous time when I formatted my drive. I allmost gave up. I also want to thank Jeffrey Morris for his fast reply. Let the good times roll... |
