Here's the situation, I go onto a luanch pad, another player comes on, I click play it counts down to zero, then it doesn't launch, it just says Welcome Back ! I really wan't to play MP, but it doesn't lauch.

That's an AlphaHQ.net problem that's being worked out (hey, it's beta). Try exchanging IP addresses with someone.
