Hello,
I am playing SMAC at specialist level and I have discovered all the technologies (and several of the generic technolgies after the 'known' technolgoies), I have built voice of the planet but I don't seem to be able to build Ascent to Transcendenc. I am not able to choose it on any base screen or anywhere else. Help!! What do I need to do?

Save your game, then turn on the scenario editor. Check the custom rules. Make sure the Ascent To Transcendence victory is enabled.
I played a game once and somehow ALL of the victory conditions were checked off. There is some kind of bug in the startup sequence.
Let me know if that is the problem.

Thanks for the suggestion, BUT, I could invoke the scenario editor but I couldn't view/change the rules at all. Also, when I exited back to the game the next attempt I made to view a base locked up my entire computer. Any other thoughts?

Shift-F10 will bring up the Custom Rules when the editor is active. What does it do on yours?

Thanks for the reply. This time the scenario editor invoked successfully (why it didn't last time because I followed the same sequence, start game, load saved game then click on scenario then shift-f10 anyway) but all the victory conditions and other start-up options such as steal tech were set off. It seems the same 'bug' as other people have reported. Do you need a saved game or do you have enough detail?
