Hi,
I just bought the game 15 minutes ago and immediatly went to this site to download the v2.0 patch for this game!
On the download page I read that only the US version was supported for now and that the others would 'follow soon'! I live in belgium and have the English version of the game with just a Dutch box! Is this the UK or US version? There is no indication anywhere that this game was not produced in the US, although the UK would be more logical!
What is it with those different version anyway, is the UK version really different from the US version, I mean they are both English, why alter them??? Does this also mean that I will not be able to play SMAC with other people who have the v2.0 US version? Will we always have to wait several weeks for a european patch?
I bet this is a great game, but if I am correct I cannot play against american friends and my game inferior to theirs in singleplayer! I feel discriminated and demand an explanation! :-)
Sorry about this,but I am already pissed before I even started this undoubtebly amamzing game!

Copy protection is the difference. If you've got 6 buttons on the autorun menu after installing, you have the US.

This is getting more fun all the time! I am not even allowed into ALPHA HQ.net with my unpatched UK version! They are even acting as if nothing exists except the US, telling me an upgrade to v2.0 is mandatory.
Can anyone at least tell me when the European patch is going to be released?
