![]() ![]() ![]() Having some minor problems with the DirectX 6.0 video. Is it recommeded to use DirectX 6.1 instead. I have several unregistered drivers for my ancient video card (S3 - Virge 325) and S3 hasn't updated them in 18 months. Should I just by a newer video card? Should receive my tax return next week so I have the money |

![]() ![]() I have the same S3(325) but it is an intergrated chip on a older 200mmx computer. I'm using ver. 4.03.00.2102-3.02.03 dated on 1-24-1997. These are older drivers but they register as certified with dx6.0 and I haven't had any problems with them even on so called problem games like Settlers3,SC3K Fallout2 or Baldurs Gate. I can't find them on S3s'web site. So I can e-mail a copy to you on your say-so if you wish. Don't forget a driver doesn't have to be certified to work well with Dx it only means that Ms ran them through their labs and they worked. My sound drivers aren't certified in 6.0 but were in 5.0 and they work fine. Even though the direct sound component didn't change in 6.0 from 5.0. they still show as uncertified. |

![]() ![]() Hmm. I'm using an S3 varient for my vidcard, too, and I have no end of problems with the videos (from system freeze to more common "must abort). How do I find out if my drivers are out of date, or registered with dx6.0? Heck, include me on the "please give me video drivers that work!" list: [email protected] -- thanks to everyone. |

![]() ![]() ![]() I am having the same problems. My movies have lots of green lines accross them when they play, and they stutter. PLease send me the S3 drivers as well. Thanks |
