![]() ![]() ![]() I have sound stuttering problems. I just bought the game and it's the first time a game is giving me sound problems with my system. When I start the game (Typical or Complete install, same thing), the first graphic comes up fine, then the Firaxis clip loads fine, except I hear sound glitches a bit when the arms put the sign on the wall. Then, the movie starts and the lady's voice is not understandable. Not stuttering, completely inaudible. During gameplay, I have stuttering problems all the time. I have a Pentium II 350 with 128megs ram, 8 gigs drive (4 gigs free, defrag'd), ATI All in wonder pro 8 megs AGP, Monster 3D, Soundblaster 16, 24x cdrom.. I'm running DX 6.1, SMAC 2.0 and latest sound drivers. Is there any problems with Soundblaster 16? I never had sound problems with any other games before. Recky |

![]() ![]() ![]() Absolutely not. SB16's have got the be the most heavily tested sound cards ever, and SMAC was no different. Try the readme.txt suggestions (namely directdraw = 0 and the other movie one). Also visit the ATI webpage and see if there are more recent video drivers. jkm firaxis games |

![]() ![]() ![]() Make sure the EAX and DS3D support is disabled in the alpha centauri.ini file (set to 0). Also, run DXDiag.exe and look for any "!". If so, email me the details at [email protected]. jkm firaxis games |
