posted 02-12-99 03:20 AM ET I seem to have a memory leak when I play the game. Every time I play for 3 or so hours my system goes down to 10% resources and crashes. Now, I doubt it is a general lack of system resources in the first place as I have gigs of hard disk space and 384 MB of RAM on a PII 400. The type of error that I am getting is most similar to errors that I have gotten using other products with memory leaks. Has anyone else experienced this problem?

We're found and fixed a few memory leaks in the sound.dll that will be available in the patch (to be released today). Try it and see if that fixes them. Another thing to try is to rename the sound.dll to sound.dl_ to see if we're talking about the same thing.

I ran it for almost 10 hours (you can do that on a huge map, aiming for transcendant) with no increase in mem usage. It is really cool sound and animation and everything!

Windows NT has a problem if your virtual memory is less than your physical. Maybe the same problem exists in 98. Try to increase you virtual memory to ~500 MB and see what happens.
