When I toggle out of SMAC to another open application like MS Word, I cannot see the task bar - Instead, I see the very bottom of the SMAC screen...

If I have SMAC open, the only way I can "see" my task bar it to hit that button that has the MS flag on it, between the left ALT and left CNTRL buttons. (Is it called the "task bar" or "start" button?)

Is there a solution for this?

Click on the auto hide option in your task bar properties. Then you will be able to access your taskbar at any time during the game by simply dragging your cursor to the bottom part of your screen.

I hope this helps.

Actually, I like having the task bar on, I just don't like the way SMAC peeks out at me where the task bar SHOULD be whenever I toggle into any other open program... Any fix for this?

Sorry, I must have misunderstood your question.

This is a common problem with many Win95/98 based programs that take up the full screen, and cannot be resized/minimized.

Simple solution: When you actually need your task bar...hit the windows button on your keyboard (assuming you have a Win95/98 keyboard). It will cause the start menu to pop up, along with the task bar. Then you can click on stuff in your systray or any of the apps listed on the task bar.

Hope this helps!

what the "windows bottom" is? Don't have a key specified so.

No, the task bar isn't to reach in any case and ALT-TAB doesn't work right, too.
The *only* solution I found is to click *right* the "Start" field in task bar then minimise the window so it is an *active* program. Then load SMAC. Now you can reach that window by ALT-TAB.

yeah, if you need to minimize smac the minimize all feature should do it. If you just need to get the start menu, you can do ctrl + esc or the start button. Has anyone seen PC keyboards that can turn off a computer? I just heard about them.
