I tried that the ini file was edited but it still was very slow and choppy... as for directx it didn't come on my alpha centauri disk.. i had facs, fx, maps, projs, saves, scenarios, techs and voices as directories... i am downloading directx as i am typing this, maybe that will solve the problem
