Good news--
European users can now download the version 2.0 patch from www.firaxis.com. We'll try to get it posted to this site as well as soon as possible.

i was about to deinstall SMAC and put it on the shelf, even i like the game idea, the interface and almost everything, i was tired of waiting...

Hey great !
Hot seat option is really important if phone costs are as high as in Germany. Does the patch fix some of the compressed terran.exe bugs ?
I think it was no good idea to compress it against pirates. I buy all those games I think they are great but I did copy it twice for own LAN-Usage (Hope thats somewhat legal) whitout unsolvable problems (but hey it works a lot better than so called laser lock onely)

About the US-Version terran.exe bug : I think it is the combination of AMD-CPU, ATI-Video and programs in the background since if one disables on of those options the game works perfectly for me. (I changed my AMD to my old P166)

I've heard that version 3.0 may eliminate the compression/etc. No promises, because I haven't heard that "officially", but keep your fingers crossed.

Just to confirm, Canada should use the USA patch, correct? Im assuming this is true because normally software produced in the USA is the exact same in Canada usually.

Yes, Canada uses the USA patch.

If you have the "Asia-Pacific" version you get the USA patch.
