Search function didn't turn up anything useful, but. Trying to modify the default settings in Alpha Centauri.ini to turn off autosave and do a few other things. (This is using whatever the latest version is that you download from GoG for Windows, on a Windows 8.1 machine, no mods yet)

The lines I see that seem relevant:

It would be easier to just toggle settings from the in-game GUI.  Then you could look at the effect upon those values in the .ini file, and you'd know what bit controls what.
