only in the first few minutes, rest of the time, not a problem.

I go to a site that lists different sites that will have an episode.  Each has it's own tricks to them that you have to be ready for.  I keep the window size reduced so that if a pop-up springs up (usually full size), I can immediately slap it down way before it even has a chance to fully load.  One of them likes to put up pop unders, but I only go to that one rarely.  Some of the listed sites I stay away from completely.  Some are better from my phone than laptop...

I watch all of my TV this way.  I try to mix it up and not bing watch something too much...

I may have done a few football games that way, but found it annoying enough to generally prefer to watch on the actual TV, myself.  That said, I much prefer streaming to live TV at the same time.

So I finished up The Orville, or at least caught up, whatever.

The rest of the season was a whole lot of...not exactly copying, but heavily influenced by various episodes of Twilight Zone, TNG, and Black Mirror.  With perhaps a Simpsons episode (which was itself based on a twilight zone, but the Orville version felt closer to The Simpsons)

My enjoyment per episode was directly proportional to my enjoyment of the source material.  The humor seemed to start to coalesce a little towards the end, as well, feeling less forced.

The finale(?) was a ripoff of a Voyager episode.

Which was a ripoff of the Simpsons treehouse of terror

! No longer available

Both of which are a ripoff of The Dragon's Egg book, which itself owes plenty to The Little People from Twilight Zone.

Oh man, I totally forgot about that Simpsons episode! And I must confess that I've never gotten around to reading Dragon's Egg.

I think I have all the treehouse episodes memorized.  I'm a little fuzzy on the rest of it.  Especially of late.

Didn't particularly care for the 2nd season premiere on The Orville

Needing noise while doing christmasy things just before the holiday, I attempted to watch some Voyager...and got maybe 10 minutes in before switching to DS9.

Voyager had, quite possibly, the best setup of the post TNG shows, and it was totally squandered.  They threw it away the first episode or two.  Imagine if they'd kept the distrust amongst the two crews.  Hell, keep both ships/have the maquis ship a glorified shuttle/fighterish ship that could dock.  Threat of mutiny, keep the traitor identity secret.  Have prime directive disagreements, steal this thing that knocks 20 years off the trip or not?

But...whatever.

But then, Janeway couldn't throw around her 'Power Bun'...

Just watch the Year of Hell 2-parter if you want an example of what Voyager could/should have been.

He does well in a totally straight role. It's a good arc because you actually see Voyager take a beating over an extended period of time, like you'd expect for a little ship out on its own. But it is a time travel story...

I'll have to dig through netflix and find it.
