Images from the party.  Temps were cold enough the pumpkin pieces were freezing almost as soon as they were pulled out of the pumpkins (pumpkins kept in the garage to keep from freezing prior)

This is what happens when I actually put a little effort into carving, one of our giant pumpkins.  Not a lot, mind you, just more than my normal bifurcate and call it good.  I've actually designed some of the pumpkin master carving templates in the past.

Well, the manufacturers basically said they aren't going to make any more 3.2 beer.  Kinda hard to fight against that.

My hand ended up being injured beyond my normal tendonitis flare up this year.  I still haven't uploaded everything, and there's still some things in the yard.

So, still party night.

Clarence struggled mightily.  Mostly with the lighting, but I won't rule out weather as partial blame.  He had to up the ISO to even get it to shoot.  And then it made it look like sunset when it did shoot.

So, Halloween night, I pulled out Vera.

However, Vera struggled with the cold in my preferred shooting method of using very high F stops and super long exposures for halloween.  It would just plain  quit shooting after a few seconds trying to expose.  I've confirmed it still works fine, just the cold was either killing battery or messing with the remote sensor.

So, I did something I've actually never done on Vera and let her shoot in semi-auto.

So, fun thing on this shot.  The largest pumpkin was carved day OF Halloween.  The other three large ones here were left out all night.  All have real candles, just note how the freezing of the smaller ones overnight has changed how they light up.

2.0

This is a concept I think I need to look more into.  Last minute for giggles thing.  Uno vs Pinterest.

The ancient path of death.  I really rather liked the corn field off to the left.  The separation of lighting from the green out front to the torches on the side worked really well.  I really wish we had more traditional lighting of the pumpkin, but this side sees NO sun this time of year, and they were basically ice blocks.

Father/Cropper.

Another shot of how weird the ice pumpkins light.

I really don't know why my kids love cropper so much...but I've got some ideas from this...

The ancient Chinese had a name for it: Feng Shui. We call it energy flow. It is the same thing, the same thought: energy is everywhere, but only a fraction of it is tapped by humans for their purposes. Now the Progenitors have taught us that we can tap not only our own latent abilities, but the latent abilities of the Universe itself.
