100-turn limit, no techs higher than level 5, no more than 10 bases.
Saved games are compatible with the full version, so if you get something really cool started you can always continue it with the full version.

Presumably it will be widely available, though I am not directly in the loop on this. There will be 2 versions available for download: ~10meg with NO SOUND ~20meg with SOUND We've tried to keep the download sizes as small as possible, by stripping pretty much all of the multimedia, voiceovers, etc. |

Well, since the additional sound only requires another 10 mb, and we wanted to save people the frustration-potential in trying to install two things over top of each other, we decided to simple have the "whole thing with sound" and "whole thing without sound" as the two options. Even though theoretically we could have all sorts of different download options, the reality is many sites will only put up one or two versions, so we wanted to make sure the versions we offered were the best possible combination.
First of all, I highly recommend that you just go ahead and download the with-sound version in the first place, since it's a lot cooler. The 10mb version exists only because we realize that some people simply can't do a 20mb download. If you -can- do it, definitely go for it.
Secondly, if you get the 10mb version and then decide you really must have the sound, it's still only 20mb to get it. |
