Do you think that Firaxis is waiting until the demo is released before they put the old forums back on line?

If I had to guess, and this is strictly a guess, Firaxis will probably put up a new, blank forum (or forums) when the demo comes out. Whether or not they keep this one remains to be seen. They could delete it claiming that they need the disk space, or they could just add a new forum.
I personally expect to see some kind of change shortly after the release of the demo.

I would think that Firaxis would also put up a Technical Support forum after the release of the demo. Either that or a technical FAQ listing common installation problems and solutions.

After all they'll all be sitting around with their feet up with nothing to do won't they.

They will probably have a little bit more time on their hands, so I hope we get a decent forum structure up. I'd like a little bit of warning though, if possible.
