The Human Hive is the next step in human society. Each member of the Hive values self-sacrifice and discipline, and has a sense of duty to the community. When each member of a society embraces this philsophy, a new level of trust and reliance can be built up between the members of that society. By being able to rely upon and cooperate with the other members of the Hive, each member is able to achieve a level of efficiency and productivity that no other faction could dream of. This efficiency and productive capacity allow the Hive to prosper in the inhospitable environment of Chiron. Since the entire Hive prospers, each member of that community similarly prospers. The fruits of this prosperity will be safety, security, and the continuance of humanity, as well as complete satisfaction of physical needs like nutrition and shelter.

The Hive recognizes that efficiency is its strength. It therefore builds upon that strength. Many Detractors refer to the Hive as a "police state", in hopes that the memories of failed governments in the past will scare off those who would consider the Hive as their home. In truth, these Detractors fail to understand the true nature of the Hive. It is true that the Hive values security. It is also true that the Hive does not tolerate those who work against the community, or those who would seek to exploit their fellow members for senseless personal gain. These persons are removed or rehabilitated. Naturally, these same Detractors refer to education and rehabilitation as "insidious mind control" because their limited vision prevents them from understanding that working together, as a team, is what has enabled humanity to reach as far as it has. Since they cannot see past their own greed and self-centeredness, they believe that only unnatural acts could convince one human being to cooperate with another. In actuality, the unnatural situation exists in THEIR societies, where people are expected to cheat and exploit their fellows for their own personal gain. Humans are by nature cooperative and compassionate. The Hive recognizes this as one of the very building blocks of civilization. It is only natural that this building block be incorporated into our new society on Chiron.

Many of the Detractors will tell you that the Hive is "evil" because it "tramples on the rights of its members". These statements are the result of a misunderstanding of history, and a fear of change. I will explain by way of analogy: Long ago, when all were ruled by monarchy and the people were oppressed and exploited by the elite, the government was like a wild beast, and the citizens had no recourse but to cower in fear, lest it turn its attention upon them. Gradually, people grew to understand the nature of this beast, and they decided that they no longer wished to be the victims of its ferocity. Thus was born the concept of the "right", a prohibition upon the government from acting in a certain fashion. Thus, the beast was caged. The Hive, however, realizes that it is time to tame the beast, and make it work for the people instead of against them. The Hive, by its very nature, is not separate from its members, as the governments of the past have been. The Hive IS its members, working in harmony and cooperation, so it is impossible for the Hive to work against its members. With this understanding, it is clear that the cage which surrounds our "beast" is no longer necessary, since it is a beast of burden, not a source of terror. The cage which surrounded it in the past would only serve to get in the way. Many fail to realize that this new step in society is possible. They fail to see how a government could exist for any purpose but to exploit and hurt the subjects which it lords over. It is not surprising that they fail to understand, since they have never known anything else. The Hive, however, seeks out those visionaries who realize that a better way will not build itself, but must be created by our efforts.
