The Electronics Boutique website is listing a February release date for SMAC, and you'll notice that the latest issue of Computer Gaming World has it listed for a Second Quarter of 1999 date. So, it's looking more and more like spring... if most major distributors and game magazines are putting it later and later-- and SMAC itself only got a tiny blurb in CGW's big "Upcoming Strategy Games" section. Not good... keep fingers crossed that it's all some horrible mistake...

Any idea as to why? Hate to admit my ignorance, but what happend in October and the loss of the of the previous BBS?

For the lack of better explanation, my theory is as follows:
Firaxis couldn't be bothered with posting to this forums or talking to the press, so they programmed their computers to:
-release a new chapter of a pre-written story each week
-post a message into this forum about the new chapter
-ocasionally send a review from a collection of a pre-written fake reviews to a game mag/web site
-post a message into this forum about the new review
-Every week send message to 5 random game mags/web sites notifying of a delay in development and stating new release date (TODAY + 2 months)
This got the whole world of their backs and they could peacefully develop the greatest game in the world. Unfortunately, a freak accident killed all the members of the Firaxis team before they managed to finish the game. Now those PR computers continue to execute their program, making everyone think that the game is being developed, while the only brains that knew the secrets of SMAC are decomposing in the Firaxis' offices.
Oh, and that freak accident was definitely caused by Nexii!!!

That freak accident must of been caused by CWAL, & their constant barrage onto Firaxis!! They must be destroyed before the game never comes out!! Join the BoS & help us rid the world of their evil!
As for the release dates. The pushbacks just plain suck. I wanna play the game man!! They even said the demo would be coming soon, along with the game in January!! Would Mike lie to us??

A shame. My holliday wishlist (SMAC + time left alone to play) will have to be spent on the more mondane.

Hmmmmm, If SMAC is pushed again then I woun't miss the demo. Then agian that will comprimist the happyness of everyone one here.
