Since the Essence of Finland topic is recieving a lot of attention, I'm just gonna
found the 23rd (I think) Faction: Finland.
We are
PRO Vodka (Finlandia!)
PRO Peacekeepers (we like it neutral)
CON Russians (they suck)
CON UoP (see above)

As the Finns are capable of keeping shut up in a fully crowded elevator all the way up to the 100th floor (if we had that high buildings...), I assume that 23rd-ers just can't stand any empty talk/promises, so we just say what we mean and expect everyone else to do the same! So beware, all you

Is it OK to join, if you have a Finnish mother and an Austrian father (genetically Croatian (Jugoslav (Slavic peoples, Southern version - NOT Russians), I guess?).
My argument is the Finnish genes are so dominant, I belong here!

Well, of course, it's up Tom to decide if we are accepted, but if I am then I'll vote for you. You have prove your worthiness already with your username and some finnish genes (not required for qualification, I suppose...). You make a goo addition to our monotonous genes =)

Btw. finnish genes are really strong; if any in this forum ever has seen pure stubborness in your friends, it must be the finnish gene called SISU. It was implemented to our genes when we discovered this piece of cold, flat, poor and rainy land... =)
Have to admit that nowadays the gene has been a bit on the recessive side (not that I'm talking about my genes...). It must have something to do with the fact that a lot of people go to the Mediterranean countries on winter holidays to fry themselves. They just get soft. =)

I vote for Finlandia, sounds a bit more jubilous. And it's my favourite drink.
Hope I have a vote before actual membership, but I gratefully ask permission to be a part of this holy group of paladins in search for a better world for all of us.
Yes, anti-spy most definedly. And perhaps pro-infantry army, with just a few vehicles and elite infantry.
Finnish genes rock, we have the most fertile sperm in whole Europe! And that's a scientific fact.
Of course Tapiolan Poika should be allowed to join. Perhaps also everyone else who has some connection to our beloved fatherland. No use accepting only Finns and make a faction of 10 people.
All of the Sisu -candies are made 5 kilometres from where I live, in Aura. Now that just about gives me the opportunity to ask the leadership of propaganda section. I've been working on it for a while allready and giving me an offial reason would justify my cause. So what do you say, Tom of Finlandia ?

Anybody who considers the Finns to be the supreme race, may of course join.
I guess that would include Tapiola.
I understand that he was the first to make the Finnish people's voice heard on this forum.
Finlandia sounds fair nuff, Finlandia it shall be.
The Finlandia Army should be made up of elite SISU Infantrymen, Laplander Reindeer Cavalry and top-gun Ilmavoima pilots.
If nobody objects, Grosshaus shall be the Minister of Propaganda.

Well, well, isn't this exactly the kind of diplomatic babbling I warned you... Let's stay sharp, keep calm and just ignore those evil attacks. After all, we should be the peacekeepers =)
And naturally, we are coming with a high tech ship of our very own!
I would like to fulfil my duty and honour to help Finlandia flourish by working as the Head of the Environmental Section, if possible.

Since we agreed to change our name, I put up a new thread called The New and Improved XXIII Faction: Finlandia.
I guess nobody noticed it yet, but please post there from now on.

Well, guess it all comes down to this now. My pride makes me answer the challenge that I believe was thrown by Finns. I'm now forming 1st Preobrazhenskiy Russian Guard faction. Although there aren't a lot of Russians who will play this game, but I hope there will be enough to stand up and battle for the Motherland once again! Although I will not lower my self (like Tom did) saying that Finns suck, I will say that we are "displeased" with agressive Finnish politics against the peacefull Russia. So in that case, when SMAC will come out, the challenge will be answered to the FULL measure. E-mail me if you want to join the elite Guards of Mother Russia.
