Don't we all

I don't know, that's up to Mike Ely, & Deidre hates Saratov anyway. I don't think Mike Ely would put a sex scene in the story, because some younger lads can be reading the story. But then again, those very lads are accesing porn. I hate the internet...

BTW, nakEd is the spelling. Oh well, no one's perfect. In fact, I'm the farthest from perfect of anyone on this planet. In the words of the great & wise Red Dog: "I a reel good speeller"

The decent into weirdness. Ahh, I love it! No, the weirdest times were definately the famed 'Jarke topics', which included 'Ohio', Brocolli, & the little known 'Alvin & the Chipmunks' one.

I don't think it can get any weirder, unless Jarke starts some new threads

I think we should let this topic quietly sink to the bottom and continue this discussion in a club or something. Otherwise Firaxis may lose what little shred of respect they still have for this forum.

I wouldn't do Santiago for two reasons. 1.) She's taken a nose dive from an ugly tree, & hit every branch on the way down! 2.) It's not good to have sex with your boss

You know these forums are going to hell when you're discussing the do-ability of cartoon drawings of a sci-fi game. I say we do SnowFire's suggestion & let the thread sink faster than Titanic.

I think it's absolutely amazing that people can get offended by an innocent, silly little thread such as this.. If anyone ever again tries to suggest to me that Americans are not sort of sexually oppressed, I'll laugh'em right in the face!

Okay, since this thread refuses to die, I'm putting it in the misspelled I club XIX. I'm not terribly offended by this topic, DCA, but think of the people who might contribute to our forums that never come because they are driven away by this? Talk about a descent! Where did this topic come from? Not only that, but what about that fundamentalist lady person? And i wouldn't want to have a fling with any of these females, simply because i enjoy being in a wonderful and stable dating relationship (and besides...none of them are that attractive.)
Anyway, YYYH, sleeping with your boss might not be a bad idea...but Ferengis do have a rule that say that you should never sleep with the *daughter* of your boss...;-) I'm glad the Star Trek Faction died, even though i'm a science fiction fan, which includes everything. I love Dr. Who and SW and ST and Sliders and what not, but i've only seen part of a show of Red Dwarf.

hehehe...isn't it fun that the surest way of keeping a thread alive is to attempt to bury it?

SnowFire: Well, at least you're admitting that you think people might be offended by this thread.. I suppose it's the 'sexual nature' rather than the 'non-sensical nature' you're afraid will put people off - at least you ever tried to bury the NIM, Ohio or broccoli threads... (methinks)

DCA,
Of all the strange 'crimes' that human beings have legislated out of nothing, 'blasphemy' is the most amazing--with 'obscenity' and 'indecent exposure' fighting it out for second and third place.

on second though, YYYH, you may be right about sleeping with your boss. i was making my statement based on the assumption that your boss would be of the opposite gender. :-) my apologies.

also, i think this thread is less offensive than most...i am reminded of the Great Sagan's novel, Contact, here:
"Pray for Sex." The story behind it: A Soviet scientist comes to Berkeley and finds these sort of buttons. He buys the button mentioned above and states: "In America, it's only offensive in one way. In Russia, it's offensive in two separate ways."
Now, what does this have to do with this thread? Well...just imagine if we had started a thread about something to do with the sexuality of some of the most revered religious figures...the sheer amount of insulting or flaming responses would drown out the ones who actually debate it.

And, i agree with YYYH. Cartoon drawings aren't real, and fantasizing about them...well, you know, it just seems kind of like something a DESPERATE friend of mine does. Scary.

No offense, peoples. :-)

Well, I think this signals we've just about exhausted every possible angle of on-topic discussion here.

Seriously, I think the leaders are highly psychotic and quite unstable. I'm not sure I would want to stand in the same room as them, let alone have sex.

Hey, Maya, i'm a teenager and i am surprised at your generalization. not all of us males drool over lara croft. i personally think she's too unrealistic (skin's way to tiny, she's rather TOO well drawn...).
As for the leaders being unstable, the more unstable they are, often time the more respected and followed they are till a point. I honestly would like to meet them, and speak with them and see if i could relate to their various dementias...i have a few myself. :-)
I wouldn't want to sleep with them, seeing as most are male, and the three females are rather unattractive.

Q Cubed: Come on! A religious zealot, a technocidal vegephile and an ideological fanatic? How many dementias do you have?

Though I agree with your comment about the portraits. Especially Miriam's - she looks more dopey and depressed than the fiery religious type she's meant to be. As well Corazon has impossibly dark eyes, and Skye hardly looks scottish.

As for the male leaders, while Lal and Morgan are both well drawn, Zarhkov just looks like a weirdo and Yang hardly embodies the 'Asian Hardass' type he's supposed to.

Is it too late to get the portrait's changed?

ummm...OCD? unfortunately, i have mild ocd, and it's not fun. and as for the other dementias, actually, it's not too bad, since i know and am friends with several fanatics of one thing or another. maybe it's just the teenage hormones, maybe not, but still...it wouldn't bother me unless they started brainwashing me or forcefully makeing me do something against my will.

Drooling teenager?? No, not me. In fact, I was discussing the stupidness of Eidos's 'big tits' strategy with Tomb Raider, with diabolik some time back. I personally think cartoon drawings that people are attracted to(for some reason) are dumb. The real thing is better......

Q Cubed posted 12-08-98 12:58 AM ET     Click Here to See the Profile for Q Cubed  Click Here to Email Q Cubed
YYYH, i agree with you totally, man. real females are so much more fun to be around, because they don't have canned speech, they think, they breathe and what not. as for tomb raider, it's supposed to be a good game, but it's in a genre that i just can't really play well with. lara croft is not someone that i would drool over in a million years.
and besides...drooling isn't the best way to attract members of the opposite gender, either. ;-)
DCA posted 12-08-98 02:18 AM ET     Click Here to See the Profile for DCA  Click Here to Email DCA
Actually, I find drooling to be extremely effective in a wide variety of situations.

Yo & Qbed: No no, you've got it all wrong. Real girls just don't stand up in comparison with cartoons, and I've got statistics to prove it. Cartoons have, on average, 53% more personality than real girls. Average cartoon IQ and EQ are both in excess of 145, far outranking their RL (real life) counterparts. Finally, cartoons have been proven to be at least 23% more beautiful than RL girls, and they practically never get sick or anything.

The final conclusion, then, is that cartoons are definitely worth drooling over. In fact, male drooling is generally considered extremely sexy among cartoon women, and is as such a fine way of getting around that difficult initial contact.

Having established these facts we can turn to the real problem: the fact that cartoon females often are inseparable from their cartoon males (this is the issue which dushan previously discussed to some extent). The solution, I think, is to approach the cartoon females at the earliest possible opportunity, hopefully getting their attention while they still remain unattached to a specific cartoon male. Failing that, try violence (erasers have been known to be extremely effective against cartoon characters).

DCA,
I don't have any solution, but I certainly admire the problem.

Man, no offense, but i disagree with saying that cartoon females have more personality and what not than real females. if you took the time to fall in love with a real female that returned your affection, i doubt you would return to the cartoon females. Cartoon females don't give you nice backrubs when you need it, they don't talk to you to help you solve problems, they aren't as cute, and you can't do as much with them (take that in any manner that you wish, but i'm not being especially vulgar or perverse here).

Besides...kissing cartoon characters isn't fun, because when i was young, i decided to eat paper. It was nasty. ;-) Also, drooling over paper cartoon girls...if a glob of saliva fell out, you'd get the picture all yucky. For television and other electronic cartoon girls - static may prove to be a problem when you pucker up, and drooling over electric appliances isn't exactly the wisest thing to do. ;-)
