We haven't heard very much about a lot of the factions, but everything I know about the Morgan Conglomerate leads me to believe that it will be run like a corporation. This begs the question, however, of what society is like for the citizens. Do they have civil liberties? Are they allowed to criticize the company in public? Are they allowed to form labor unions? Are they forced to pay taxes? How is their judicial system organized?Generally in a corporation (at least according to my understanding), the shareholders elect the boardmembers, and the CEO serves at the pleasure of the board. This means, however, that the difference between semi-democracy and dictatorship in this society is completely dependent on who owns the stock. If Morgan himself owns 51%, then nobody could remove him from office. How do the citizens feel about that? I'm especially interested in what the anti-Hivers think about this.

The judicial system is probably very corrupt because of bribed judges. I would think that if the society as a whole is like a corporation then it would be very well organized with people wearing colored name tags to indicate the student from the work from the intellectuals. Also, I would imagine very low taxes, supply side economics all the way. Capital gains tax was probably the first thing that was banned. |

I was hoping the Morgan Conglomerate would just be a capitalist's paradise, but apparently there's no room for Adam Smith on Chiron. |
