The title says it all. Seven Kingdoms2 will include the ability to play as the inhuman enemy factions, in addition to the human factions. And part of Dungeonkeeper's appeal was that you got to play the opposite side, (most dungeon games have you playing the adventurer invading a dungeon). Thus, I think that this should definitely be a feature of SMAC2.

I disagree. You can't play the Barbarians in CIV. You can't play the Antarans in MOO2.It takes away from the whole "mystique" of the sentient Planet. |

Hmm...you might have a point about losing the mystique of Planet. But you can bribe Barbarians in CIV, and you can produce Mindworms as in SMAC. |

I would be a nice feature. You don't have to use it if you don't want it Ciao Marian Editor of the Alpha Centauri Zone http://www.juhu.de/hartel/alpha |

I think it would be hard to make this mode fun. You would start out over-powerful (e.g. you've got a bunch of mindworms when the colonists just have one base each, and nothing else), but in the end game you would have no chance of keeping up. Unless the game mechanics were changed to be somehow different in this mode, I can't imagine myself playing it.

And you'd be tied into loving the Gaians and killing the Believers and Morgans everygame, too. More of a novelty than anything else. |

I don't think it should be an option, since, as SnowFire said, it would be a novelty. Maybe as a cheat code like "Gaia" in AoE. BTW, SnowFire, why would they hate the Believer's?

"BTW, SnowFire, why would they hate The Believers?"I'll answer that for you. From the pc.ign preview, it said the Believers creationist beliefs hinder their science ability, & their relations with the natice life. I agree on not having this option. It would basically take out that big mystery that Planet is supposed to have, from Brian Reynolds designer notes, previews, etc. Your faithful & hell-bent NIMadier general, YYYH |

Yeah, as YYYH said it. The mindworms are only for exploitation; kill 'em all.Rang, I assume that TA:K will be balanced with that in mind. It'll be like the 3 races of SC or the 2 factions of Myth and WCII: meant to play that way. I don't see SMAC as designed to support this. |

Who sez you'd have to love the Gains? They would never scratch where it itches. It would not be the first time that somebody did something for someone else because it's good for them but never bothered to ask first (reminds me of our government). The possiblity intreages me, especially the part where communication (and therefor diplomacy) would be impossible at first, and merely difficult at best. |
