The last time a forum reached 10,000 posts we had some sort of celebration, right? [I was away that weekend, so I missed it ]. Anyway, what's in the works this time?

With only about 100 more posts to break the 10,000 threshold, I'd say that someone should make some plans in a hurry.

The celebration JB tried to start failed miserably. It only got a few posts, the I club one wasn't much better, mostly because Jimbo was dancing around claiming he had 10,000, then TAS came in & told him it might have been me who did 10,000, & that pretty much ruined it.

I doubt this one will be much better

Your faithful & hell-bent NIMadier general,

I totaly forgot what I was going to say, I had something realy good lined up, but then I went blank.

I know this post is pretty pointless, but i just want to express my anger at the feability (if that's a word) of the human brain.

Well, I'm pretty sure I had the 10,000th post

I posted all messages between 9989 and 10000 in a row in the thread "Countdown"

The count was 9988 before I started and it was exactly 10000 when I was done (I checked after posting number 10000 before beginning the celebration).

So I did have 10,000 (I figured the only way to make sure that I would be the one was to make a whole bunch of posts in a row right when it got real close. The 10,000 mark would go right by everyone without them realizing it. . )

SO HERE IT GOES:

HURAH

WE HAVE 10,000 POSTS!!!!!

JOIN THE WIERDNESS IN THE "COUNTDOWN" THREAD FOR MORE ENJOYMENT!!!

To commemorate, I may send a celbratory file to all SMAC members I know of. . .
(A midi file from Star Wars, the celbration music at the end. May take too much space though )

BUT WE ALL ARE HAPPY TO HAVE HIT 10,000, RIGHT?

Go through all that work again?!?!?

YOU DO IT!!!!

Actually, I'm talking to a lurker I know at the universtiy right now trying to turn him to the NIM side (start posting).

So I'm busy right now.

In addition, the only reason I did it the first time was that it was Thanksgiving weekend and I had nothing better to do.

I may not have that much time again until after finals (and then I'll be on a 486 with a 14.4 modem)

Mike tumbles through the door champagne in hand only to realise the celebrations were already over.

I hate time differences.

Oo, Oo, Oo, Oo!!!!

I've got an idea, wait till you here this....

RESURECTING NIM!!

That's right, the original Amen Brother Greg minus all the spamming and flaming and such.

You see, when ABG was nexused I desided that I might as well read it. And becuse waste all my hours on one thread I decided to download it. 350kb of SMACing goodness is sitting on my hard drive.

Just reasently I went inside and cleaned it up. I dealeted all the "ugly" posts and cut short DHE's "binary" so that the thread is no longer extended.

And if now I can put is up somewhere for everyone to see, I could try and get the posting option back, but that's pretty hard to do.

Anyway, what I'm saying is that if you guys I can put up piece of history for everyone to come and see.
