The Keepers of Wisdom have returned. The members of the Peacekeeping Forces from the days of old, who remember the teachings of the great philosophers will enlighten and bless the Peacekeepers with the knowledge they have saved. The Library at the center of the U.N. HQ is the focal point of the activities and plans of the Keepers of Wisdom, a group of Peacekeepers devoted to humanism and the preservation of human philosophy, human history, and human knowledge. It shall be a great philanthropic society amongst the Peacekeepers for discussion of matters of philosophy and knowledge amonst learned men and women.

(Actually, I am a member of a "Literary and Philosophical Society" in my home town. We meet every month where papers are presented and subjects discussed concerning just about everything from philosophy, to culture, to international relations, to warfare, to literature, to poetry. I would think the Keepers of Wisdom would be like this, but of great central importance in the Peacekeeper community, especially given how the Peacekeepers were originally supposed to be the Keepers of Wisdom anyways!)

So we have returned.

I don't remember who all was around back in the Keepers of Wisdom days (Brother Greg and myself are the only Keepers of Wisdom I remember), but any and all are welcome. You will be added to the list of Peacekeepers and Keepers of Wisdom (new) on my website.

(All Powerful Steering Committee, that's what we call the literary and philosophical society's governing body of two or three people, so I figure it works here too. Of course, that's sort of an inside joke and other suggestions are welcome from members)

The Keepers of Wisdom will be devoted to:

1. The preservation of records of human history, philosophy, science, literature, and music.

2. Philanthropy

3. The discussion of philosophy, politics, history, science, literature, and music.

4. The preservation of the humanistic ideals of the Peacekeeping Forces, as originally inspired by the Keepers of Wisdom.

Hey, it was around in the old times. I just said I was a Morganite to get some controversy from all the lefties...

Ok, how about some "Legion d'honeur" style groups within the PKs ?

For science, philosophy, art etc the Keepers of Wisdom.

For showing allegiance to PK ideals in practice (diplomacy, politics, military) the Keepers of Virtue.

Anything else ?

Ah, we can put them all within the Keepers of Wisdom. We could have a separate military elite group (the "Peacemakers").

However, the Keepers of Wisdom would encompas all parts of military strategy, history, politics, literature, art, music, science, and philanthropy.

I will have to add a Keepers of Wisdom section to my website.

For the armed forces, howsabout the "Keepers of Justice"?

Brother Greg.

P.S. Such a shame the old board was lost. It'd be interesting to drag up that old thread.

I don't like the term Keepers of Wisdom for the Peacekeepers (Imran ducks in anticipation of mass flaming). It sounds more like a UoP term, more scientific, rather than Peacekeepers.

As Arnelos stated, originally the PKs were called the Keepers of Wisdom. They got changed to the PKs. And I never did like the change.

So, we're just ressurecting the old name for the faction, and incorporating it into the PKs.

And Wisdom is completely independant of intelligence. I have met some very intelligent people who were as dumb as a doorpost. Absent minded professor anyone?

So no, I don't think there's too much of a clash...

Brother Greg,
Keeper of Wisdom,
Peacekeeper.
