OK, when this game debuts, I think that we should have a leauge to see how we stack up against each other.
I have already talked to YYYh and Apoc about this.
Post here to get some league design discussion going.
Since I am not familiar with html that much, I think someone else should run this thing.
OK, on to the fun stuff! For a name, The Colonists of Alpha Centauri, no?

hello ... SMAC SMAC .. lol .. I already started a thread with all sorts of ideas ... I wouldn't mind doing to paper work as long as it wasnt too big !!!

Sign me up!
One quick idea: to every scheduled game 8 people should come. That way, if someone doesn't show, there's an alternate right there to play for them.

This is a GREAT idea. One of the best things that i am looking forward to about SMAC is the multi-player .
But dear lord think how long it would take for good players to actualy finnish a game?
heh, hours... days... lifetimes !

Actually, if you play on small map it wont take that long.

I kinda hoped that there would be ranks and leages done by in SMAC multiplayer....

Marion at Alpha Centauri Zone has already done this. As for the amount of time a game will take there are settting changes that one can make to quicken the pace such as a smaller map and allowing only 30seconds per turn.There is big article in PCGAMER with preview of Alpha Centauri and Interview with Brian Reynolds
