In honor of the new Star Wars trailer, a new group has formed, the few the proud the Jedi Knights of SMAC (or JKSMAC). We intend, by using "the force" and the sacred power of NIM, to defend these forums from evil and the "dark side". To join, you must be proficient in the force and be on the light side of the force and on the good side of NIM (not NYM). To join, look for me, I'm the one in the brown uniform, and brown cape, with the navy blue-colored lightsaber. May the force and the sacredness of NIM be with you!Imran Siddiqui Patriot

Here's a question: if the Jedi Knights existed on SMAC, which faction would they support. They obviously want a "good" leader, so that elimanates Yang's Hive, Morgan's Conglomerate, and Santiago's Spartans. I feel they'd join the Gaians or Peacekeepers. The Peacekeepers, beacuse of their peaceful goals, or the Gaians because of their emphasis on balance with nature. I don't really know about support for Zahkarov (?). Your viewpoints are appreciated.Imran Siddiqui Patriot |

One important question: what do the jedi knights of SMAC say ? Ni ni ? Pluh pluh ? What !?The jedis would, of course, join the peacekeepers. Just think about them and the old republic in star wars, nothing getting closer than the PK! |

You could even say the jedis are the peacekeepers of the galaxy... |

Although they are called Knights Roland is right they mainly fullfilled a peacekeeping function. They were also doctors and councillors so I think PKs. |

Hokey religions and ancient weapons are no match for a good blaster at your side, kid.Octopus, Mos Eisley branch of the Human Hive, Scum and Villainy Division "Please excuse the wretchedness, we're remodelling to serve you better!"

It would obviously be the PK's.The jedi knights would be the confusd ones who say "huh?" I never cared for the jedi, I always liked the Han Solo guys. No jedi, no dark side, just smuggling stuff to people. Ahh the good life... Your faithful & hell-bent NIMadier general, YYYH |

Can I be custodian of the library? Mainly because I already have an extensive collection of ancient tomes on the mysteries of NIm and NYM, and if accepted, I would donate those to the Order and then be its librarian. I also am proficient in the use of various NIM powers with my transcendance to the level of "Knight."The Knights might join the PK's but would dislike the buercracy of them. The Gaians fit the Obi Wan Kenobi loner in the desert type mold, but they may be a bit too weird for them. The Believers would dismiss this false religion and hate the knights EXTREMELY, with the holier than thou attitude (after all, anyone who can practice "magic" is a follower of Satan. Kill the witches and wizards!). And for anyone else who raed Robert Jordan, check out the relationship between the Whitecloaks (religious fanatics) and the Aes Sedai (magical practitioners mostly of good). And how the Whitecloaks identify all Aes Sedai with the bad guys, when in fact they're the bad guys greatest enemy. The Hive might attract a few Dark Jedi, and the Spartans a few too (but the ones who came to the Spartans would mainly be interested in killing Santiago and setting themselves up as the new Spartan leader). |

Good analysis Snowfire. Yes, you can be head librarian, you are well suited for the task, you are a good person. I also think that the Jedi Knights would be more at home with the Gaians. The Gaians stress a balance between humans and nature. The Jedis stress a balance in the Force. Also, with a naturistic setting, the Knights could hide away. However, the Peacekeepers might be home to the Knights. It seems after reading stuff on the prequel that the government at Corsucant was a beauracracy, which the Jedi Knights were a part of. Spartans and Hive could attract the Dark Jedi. Spartans, however, live like Obi-Wan did, almost like a hermit in the deserts. Jedis could go to the Spartans to hide from evil. UoP is a wild card, I don't know about what would happen there.Imran Siddiqui Patriot |

Somebody has to make the light sabres, so the UoP would be be on good terms with the Jedi, if not have a few of their own. |

A true Jedi must construct his own lightsaber. |

Thank you Imran. And while that's a nice touch, Merlin, it's not like you HAVE to do that- after all, Luke used Annakin's sword in IV and V (though he wasn't a jedi yet). |

Like I said...a true Jedi must construct his own lightsaber. It is in fact an integral part of becoming a Jedi Knight. |

Eh, depending on the exact leanings of the Believers, that might attract a few. |
