My own humble opinion is that "Babylon 5" is the best TV-show ever made.

BigER: Yes, the acting on B5 is sometimes hit-or-miss (ESPECIALLY when they have non-regulars on the show -- sometimes they're okay, sometimes they truly suck). However, the screenwriting is so much better than any other sci-fi show I've EVER seen that I can forgive them some mediocre acting.

The regulars, for the most part, are at least mediocre, and some are actually good. I can't see how anyone could disagree with Peter Jurasik's Londo Mollari. That's the most convincing portrayal of a "different" society I've ever seen. The Centauri Republic is a completely fictional entity, but Londo's character and the actor's acting really make it come alive. And he's been that good since the pilot, whereas most of the other characters have had to grow-into their roles -- most are better now than when they first came on the show.

Just get it B5 is the best.

OK,if you only watched the pilot and then ignored the rest, then I can understand your aversions,but...

The show just gets better with every episode, and that includes the acting.

For instance:In the first season the story was mostly one about the different caracters, their dreams, hopes, relations.
With time that slowly started to change.

In season two one could start to smell the foul stench of a coming war,and from there,it only gets better.

The story contains lots of referenses/parallells to religion and history, the most frightening ones being those regarding WWII.

The story is incredible,

I pity those who fail to realise this.

Ocopus: I agree that Londo Mollari is great, but what about G'Kar? Or the Narn with a samurai sword (damn I just cannot remember his name)?

Hey, how about this:
Which is the best race in B5?

Obviously I vote for the Narn. After that the Centauri and perhaps the Vorlons. The Minbari suck!

Sydney is 10 hours behind Eastern time .. although I think that changed with Daylight savings time ... maybe its 12 now ... or perhaps it's 11 ... or it could also be 8 or 9 !!!

Well .. it's safe to say that it's in between 8 and 12 hours behind Eastern time !!!
Therefore 11 to 15 hours behind Pacific time !!!
Don't ask me if you live in Europe though !!!

Babylon 5? I find it sort of repetetive myself. Something happens on the Space Station, a murder/prophet/weird alien/whatever, all of the ambassadors disagree, the security chief runs around, some boring personal drama, some more action, the end.

Not that I don't like it, but there are better shows. At least it beats every Star Trek show hands down.

Grosshaus: "I agree that Londo Mollari is great, but what about G'Kar?"

I also like G'Kar as a character, and I think Andreas Katsulas does a great job with it, I just think that the Centauri are tougher to portray as alien since they look so human, so I like Peter Jurasik's acting better (although I think they're both great). I find that the narn with the sword (Ta'lon or something?) sounds a little awkward at times, but that might be because of the lines JMS give him, which are a bit over-formal, so they're hard to pull off. We don't know enough about him for me to form an opinion on the character.

My favorite race is the Centauri, followed by the Vorlons, followed by the Shadows.
