Dateline: Somewhere near the Columbia River
Filed by: Edward Murrow, cub reporter for Morgan Broadcasting System News***Week One***
I have joined Colony Pod 1 to finish the rest of their long journey. They have been on the move now for seven years and they are hoping that sometime early next year or at worst the following year that they will be able to find a suitable City Site in the recently discovered Columbia River Valley.
There is a scout patrol ahead of us trying to find the exact best spot, but reports from the Colony Ship's captain are that the scout patrol has wandered too far down river from where he would ideally like to found the New Morgan city, the name of which is still tightly under wraps.
From what I am told as soon as we crest the ridgeline here we should be able to see down into the valley and see the Columbia River for the first time. We should make the crest sometime in the next week. The Colony ship since leaving Morgan Industries has journeyed through mainly high barren and rocky land. Fortunately there has been little trouble with Fungus and the inherent difficulties there in.
I am quite sure though the crew and residents of this ship will be quite happy to see the river valley.
Next week I will report live on Colony Pod 1's first view of the Columbia River Valley, For now I start the first of a two part report on life inside a colony pod.
As you can imagine...
(One week later...)
*** Week Two***
This is Edward Murrow, cub reporter for MBS News, back with you for the initial view of the Columbia River Valley. We are just moments away from cresting the high ridge line.
Ahh, There it is. It is unbelievably lush, even compared to the moist coastal areas around Morgan Pharmaceuticals, and even compared to the Morgan River Valley. There is a slight haze in the air so it is hard to see much beyond the river, but scouting reports are that it is just as lush and green there as well. As you can imagine there is much rejoicing here aboard Colony Pod 1, the end of the ordeal is soon at hand.
What's that?
Excuse me, but as you may be able to tell there is some sort of alarm klaxon sounding...
Someone is suggesting that some Yang Rovers have been sighted, let us find the the First Mate or the Captain and get to the root of this...
What? Apparently my Camera man has spotted something on his telephoto lens.
Oh My God!!! No!!!
Gentle viewers I am not sure if you can see it but just this side of the River is a Mind Worm boil! We could only wish there were Yang rovers in the vicinity.
I am off to find the Captain and get a report as to what we can do, we have very few defenses against a Mind Worm assault, and there is no chance to turn this ship around in time to out run a Mind Worm rush....
