With episode 32 coming up, and less than one month until realese I belive we should be able to predict any future twists in the plot, so we shall make another continuation.
To get right down to 'biz, here are the specs:
1.Chronical 1 shall be used for an explanation of the events immediately following the crash landing up to ~1 year after planetfall.
2.Faction leaders MAY be killed, but only by *honorable* means.
3.All chronicals after the first will begin ~10 years after planetfall and continue up to 50-70 years later.
4.Remember about environmental conditions,the environment is hostile with prolonged direct exposure(READ THE REPORT ON THE CHIRONIAN ENVIRONMENT). Assume ocean coverage to be 52% of surface and with 6 major continents and hundreds of large islands. Some terraforming is acceptable.
5.New Factions may be formed,but be specific about their goals and objectives.Try not to exceed 2or maybe 3 new factions, things tend to get messy.
6.Do not exceed 45 posts per chronical.
7.throw in some council meetings,wars atrocities,new tech,ect.
8.Describe the planet and it's dead civilization.And give mindworms credit where it's due.
9.Let each Chronical last at least a couple of days.
Suggestions,comments.IDEAS before we get started?

My comment is that there are two active chronicles already (the Chronicles of Pre-Unity and Beyond, aka CPUB, and the AFC - Alternate Future Chronicles, continued from way way back when we had a CoFH forum). The CPUB is right around the time of planetfall (although there is a bit of confusion about that) and I think the AFC is continuing sometime after planetfall (1 year after planefall?). People should consider joining one or both of these before (or in addition to) starting a new Chronicle.

I understand,but I AM going to get this off the ground in the next week or so. I intend this to be the longest running (at least mission timewise)chronical so far, are you willing to post on this or do you want me to discard it? It will be a completely differt storyline that the original after all.

I post in the CPUB, and have no plans to post in any other chronicles at this time. I simply want anyone else who is thinking of joining a chronicle to be aware of their options. I in no way wanted to discourage you or anyone else from posting in a new Chronicle. Newcomers can find the Chronicle situation confusing when they come to these forums.

Yeah, BKK, with the CPUB just hitting planetfall, I see no need to start an almost exact mirror.
Also, in the first year, all the technology is basically the same, and there's going to be no real contact between factions. I consider 20 years after (how many the RCFH did) to be the bare minimum it can start at.

I would like to cover some of the early years since they provide insight to thre factions shaping, but I will increase to 15-20 years.Does anyone think this is a good idea?Maybe someone who never posted in the original CoFH?please say yes....

I've never started up a chronical series before and I would like to start one for those who aren't firmly established in CPUB or such. I have read the Chronicals of Pre-Unity, I'm not going to use any ideas from that or AFC. This will be completely different, I'm thinking up the beggining and the general direction it will go in. Aside from landing and the info already given by Firaxis, this will be so different that it will be virtualy impossible to mirror CPUB or AFC. I'm just asking for aproval and a chance to start. Will ANYONE HELP OUT???????????????!!!!!!!!

Good luck in you endevour. You ma want to reconsider your decision to bypass the existing chronicles, but if you insist on starting a new chronicles, then do so and have fun. If it's well-written, interesting and thoughtful, than others should join you. Of course, that's the principle I've tried to work on since September in the AFC. jsorense and myself have attracted very few new writers since then [I even less than he.] Anyway, have fun and enjoy yourself. If you lead, others may follow.

Even though I was an original member of the RCFH, I don't wish to join this one. For some reason, SMAC Fiction doesn't appeal to me anymore. I rather like other brands of story writing, like a Magical Medieval type. In fact, I'll start one a little later in the Off-topic forum.
