I'm afraid there's been a misunderstanding--I never intended to start up RP here. (I never really understood how it worked anyway.)

When I asked if it could happen in the SMAC Fiction category, it was only because I thought this forum wasn't the correct place for it.

Okay, I know how it did work. You made up a SMAC faction, with your social engineering choices and stuff, and then you chose your territory, tried to get alliances from other members and fought (biased) wars with other people. If we're going to have only the original SMAC factions and the SMACX factions then just scrap the bit about making up your own faction.

I personally thought that it started dying after too much star wars was introduced into the RPing.

Threads were made, grew, became obsolete, were ignored and replaced, posts were made in the threads that were relevant to the topic...in some ways much like the forum which they did much to support...indeed, did much to shape...this forum.... Now, a new forum may be shaped by the power of the RPG instinct...for what is SMAC but an RPG on a grand scale? Forgive me; I ramble...the RPing had quite a stabilizing influence on me, and with my destruction, things went down the drain rapidly; now, I am reassssonably content to live with my madnessss, yessss?
