(In the Mind-Chip Nexus, Al Na'ir System) A young man is sitting at a console, waiting while the computer sorts through the infinite readings of the Mind-Chips. Suddenly a robotic voice speaks "Mr Govran, sir, permission to bring up on screen," "Yes go ahead," says the young man, wondering whether this will be a murder or theft. On the large viewscreen above an image flickers to life. Down the bottom of this is printed 'Lt. Dave Linkon, Pilot of Gamma 4, Nubecula Minor Outpost, Nubecula Minor' also printed is 1 of 413. On the screen itself is an image of a cockpit, with many unrecognizable ships around it. Shots are fired from one and the image blinks out. "Computer," says the young man, "Bring up number 46," and image is brought up of heavily armoured troops storming the base, this image, blinks out too. "Next," calls the young man, and more and more images of the Nubecula Minor Outpost being overrun show up on the screen. "Number 271," and an image of a Lightning Sword being swung at an unarmoured man carrying a lasersword (OOC: Lightsaber) is shown. This too blinks out as the lasersword comes flying down on the holder of the sword, Admiral Varnkov of the Nubecula Minor Outpost. "Get me Admiral Tenak, immediately," screams out the young man, "tell him we've been invaded"... (In the Confederate Council, Confederate Capital, Luton, Al Na'ir system) Some of the images of the invasion of the Nubecula Minor Outpost are being shown. They stop. Lord Julion: This is most distressing, does anyone know who these invaders may be? Lord Alzaraac: I think I may know. The Supreme Lord Kaljar said something about an 'Empire' setting their sights on our galaxy. He, however, thought there was little need to worry, as we are so far out of the way. Lord Gari'in: It would appear that is not the case. Lord Julion: Anyway, something must be done. Lady Iliona: Do we have any reason to believe they wish to wipe us out? Lord Julion: The few pilots who survived this attack said that the fleet of ships appeared to be heading for the Al Ba'an system. Lord Yunj: Should we evacuate. Lord Gari'in: It will terrify the people, it cannot be done Lord Alzaraac: We have no alternative. Lady Iliona: My lord Gari'in, would you prefer that all our people die? These invaders show little mercy. Lord Gari'in: They cannot just wipe out three planets, they cannot. Lord Ter'requil: They can, and they will, if they get the chance. Lord Julion: Shall we call the evacuation then? Lord Yunj: Yes, we must, it is that or lose an empire. But where to? Not Luton, they will target that next surely. Lady Iliona: No, not to Luton, to the Al Nec'vail system. It is out of the way. Lord Alzaraac: Okay then, it is decided, we evacuate the Al Ba'an system. I will see to it immediately... |
