I don't think the -1 research balances out all the advantages. Maybe replace the +1 Probe with another penalty. Or get rid of some of the advantages--the growth itself is more than the Hive.
Aside from that, it's very funny, just one thing--"getting more money" should be changed to "running up a bar tab larger than the American national debt."

They are WAY too powerful. The +1 planet, +2 growth, free chopper, and energy bank are nowhere close to being balanced out by the -1 research. The +1 drone per 10 citizens problem isn't even existent until the very end of the game, and even then it's an extremely minor problem. I recommend changing the research to -2, changing the drone to 1 extra per 5 citizens, and getting rid of the +1 planet. Even then, they're still powerful.

I would think it would be -1 probe, instead of +1 probe. Ya know, people tend to talk when they're drunk...about secrets and stuff. Lose the chopper, and I think you have something.
