You all need counselling or to take it to the fiction forum or non related or something, but go away. This for factions that already exist and the debate of them, not make believe we have no life and try to have one in here forum.

He does have a point, tho... not about the counseling but about the purpose of this particular forum. You are really doing your own thing, all of which is OT for this forum, and much of which tends to devolve into "bwahahaha, I will crush you!" I am not saying that you shouldn't have a space to do that... but I don't think it is under the factions page, where the frequency of your posts tends to push off legitimately faction related subjects. There is an off topics page, and there is a fiction page, both of which DO in fact suit what you are doing better than the forums page. Now, I assume from the intensity of your reactions to the previous post, you will actively resist moving from the faction page simply because you are annoyed at Travathian... but I'm hoping I'm wrong.

Travathion: The "SMAC Fiction" forum is for people who write stories about the original seven (7) factions (Hive, Believers, UoP, Morgan, Spartans, Gaians, and PKs), NOT role-play alternate factions, which is what WE do HERE! If you want some help in figuring out which threads are which, LOOK FOR AN "RP" IN THE NAME! With that said, I'd like to reiterate (see if you know what that means) God Emperor Eccles V's comment: Sod off!

Ghost: Which "Off-Topic" forum do you mean? The "Non-SMAC-Related" forum? That would not be more suitable, as RPing is SMAC-related, unlike the stuff going on in there.

We have been more than accommodating to the non roleplayers. We even put RP in front of every thread. It seems that only divine intervention(Brian Reynolds Appearing) will cause us to move. So why can't we get do business.

Well, Im relatively new, so maybe I dont understand the logistics. But whats holding the RP'ers here? As I see it we have no set resources... we should just move somewhere else where its less crowded - both for us, and the non-rp'ers.
I mean, surely someone could create a UBB forum on their website for us to utilise, eh?

Well, its great you put RP in the front, but why not on another board, or keep the RP to a single thread. I come here to look for faction info and comparisons, but see nothing but crap, and its that crap that pushes legitimate posts down off the board.

No, I just have a different opinion. When i say RP, I mean an exploration of our factions - and more importantly - the characters behind those factions. What makes the God Emperor tick? What does Ambassador Collins think?
UBB in my opinion doesnt help, as its designed for short posts. WWWBOARD is designed for long posts - which would allow us to write full stories about our characters, races (in future), factions/empires and so on... how can we do this on UBB?
I would like to move because I want to see RP move beyond the small post UBB stuff to the big stuff!
Plus, the bonus would be - Trav wouldnt have to be annoyed because were pushing legit posts off the board. We RP'ers wouldnt be annoyed at having to defend 'our' turf - we'd have our own..
My opinions only, of course. Still, if theres ever a vote to move, Im first with a Yea Hell, I'll set it up myself if someone tells me too

If a seperate forum shows up I'll move. Otherwise I'll post where the RP threads are. IF there here, I'll post here. If they get moved to another forum then thats fine too.

Why not just create a single post and work off that? And once it gets to like 100, make a new one? I wouldnt have a problem with this. I dont want you guys to leave, I just want to be able to see a variety of posts and not RP, RP, RP, legitate discussion of the games factions, RP, RP, RP.

Go to the multiplayer forum, its dead. 3 messages on the 14, and not much else to speak of.
