Everyone vote for their favorite pact brother. It will go 3-2-1. I vote:

bcos i personnally like the green economy, even when i play as The Hive (there's something neet and efficient about a wasteless 'Clean' Green system i think) id have to say Diedre. Ive had two games, one as the Spartans, and one as the PK where she stayed a loyal ally throughout the entire game.
generouse as well. (she supplied 70% of the military hardware i used to invade a large islanded University, allowing me to go for SL) of course we had the occasional tiff-nothing seriouse, she was like a Brittain to my America.
then there's Yang (surprisingly enough) and the ease with which his endless columns of military units flowed along my main arteries on their way to supress the defiant and actually quite rude Spartans- without me havin to get my hands dirty. of course he turned ugly in the end, but still, it was cool while it lasted.
Last & Least its PK Lal. thats bcos it was easy to be pact sister(SPartan), un pact - appropriate several of his best cities and then re-pact (submissive) once i had taken my place (replacing him) as the rightful-most powerful faction on Planet.i havnt won yet, im still playin that game.

I find University alliances work well.
If you find them in the early game, they are usually quite willing to surrender, and you can have a pact for life. Then, unless they are a risk for enemy probe teams, give them all your tech, whenever you learn anything new.
In the mid game, with each of us researching a new tech every 4-5 turns, we had the equivilant of a tech every 2 turns.
Throw in surrendered Spartans and PK's, it was a tech every turn.

I like having Zak as an ally- and since I almost always choose knowledge (after HSA) I have an unbreakable pact. He has given me lots of tech in trades, and also some other ones as freebees. He's also a pain to trample/crush because of his high tech technology. 3 pts.
Morgan is nice for money. He will always ask for a loan from me, and when I am making 100 a turn, I give it to him. With my loan intrest, my stockpile just gets bigger.. 2 pts.
I don't regularly ally with anyone else.

Morgan! that bastard has pb'd me with the charter in place too many times while I was in FME.

#2 - Zakharov (shares lots of techs)
#3 - Santiago (you can't help but feel sorry for her when she's at war with Yang and is down to one base. I sent in about 20 impact rovers. That sure showed Yang )
