I just thought it would be great to see how many used the different strategies. This poll is a little more complex than usual:
Firstly, you vote for the agressive tendencies in your personality, adding one to the current points means more war than peace and subtracting one from the current points means more peace than war in your games.
Then you vote for your favourite expansion style, +1 means your exceptionally expansionistic, build lots of cities instead of concentrating on improving those you have. -1 menas your perfectionistic like building lots of base facilities instead of colony pods.
At last you vote for research style, +1 means directing your research to military goals like unit improvements, military base facilities such as perimeter defense, aerospace complex and so on( you can do that even with blind research on, setting the research areas) and -1 means researching for civilized goals like Industrial Automation, Environmental Economics, Centauri Ecology and so on.
This is excactly like the description used in Civilization II.

I usually go for winning by Transcendence, I am neutral to war, expansionistic and directing research towards military technologies that means:

Agression: 0
Expansion: 1
Research: -1

That's too confusing. Besides i like to bash the other factions in the ground, get lots of techs and build.

Hmm... I agree this kind of voting was a bit more difficult than the usual... but wtf... I'll try it anywayze.

I am a builder... but I also annihalate all opponents except one base before I transcend... What would that make me... I have lots of peace, and my wars are QUICK.. (Never fun being surrounded by 30 24-12- *4 Gravships is it?) But I guess since I try to have peace all the time, I get -1 on Aggression. (?)

Expansion is the thing. Had over 300+ colonies in a game I completed the other day.

Research is also difficult to answer, since I tend to try to keep my defences up to date, but still get the build technology. Let's say I'm neutral there.

Also, my score
Aggression : -1
Expansion : +1
Research : 0

Cumulative score:
Aggression : -1
Expansion : +2
Research : -1

i dont know, you work it out for me, i like to spend lots of time peacefully crafting a most powerful war-machine, (whilst bogging every body else in geopoloticaly destablizing wars of attrition with each other) until i'm ready to bite significant chunks out of other, more powerful factions (thus also making them significantly less powerful).

then- put them to work building up my military in forced labour 9 year plans. to quote one of my Aquirered Population Enforcement & Development Coordinators;

'right, we're in charge now, you lot must all work, those who do not work- do not eat- work hard for the greater glory of the empire and you will be rewarded with bread! you are not in Gaia now you hippies, now get to the weapons factory, MOVE IT!!'-

this is at the expence of their civilian needs, but my own cities are then free to focus on civil, economic and scientific development. i guess this means different strategeis at different stages of the game.

so, just to confuse things

Start game:
0
0
0

Mid game:
1
-1
1

End game:
1
0
2

do i average out this or wot?
