I just tried my first game on the thinker level, and i noticed that all of my units were getting crushed by mind worms and other faction's units... even when the units were exactly even.. battles that were won easily on the lower levels. My only question is, do the players units lose attack and defense strengths on the higher levels? because all the battles i'm losing were easily won on the lower levels. I understand that the higher level means the game is harder, but isn't it wrong to make the game harder by taking away the attack and defense strengths of units??? Is that the only way they could increase the difficulty? Does anyone know what i'm saying?

Are you fighting uphill? Is your opponent on fungus? On rocks? Are they the Believers? |

Actualy I would say a 2:1 ratio is the least favrabel attack you should ever do unless you have a lot of units and reely want that place. |

This may sound dumb, but what do those attack odds really mean. I have been playing for a while but I usually turn them off except pbem games. Does 9:8 means you have a slight edge over your opponent? And something like 256:116 is even greater or what? |

it works like this:if odds are 9:8... The battle is conducted in a series of rounds. There is a 9/17 chance that the attacker will damage the defender, and 8/17 chance that the defender will damage the attacker. These are mutually exclusive, i.e., one and only one party will suffer damage. Repeat until one party has no remaining hit points. if the odds are 2:1, the attacker has a 2/3 chance of hitting, etc. |

it would be more satisfying if higher difficulty meant deeper-slyer & more cunning AI, but it looks like you just get waeker attack/defence streanths or less favourable odds or something. |

Vee - I do not believe the player faction takes a hit to combat abilities....rather, the AI factions likely get some sort of intrinsic bonus....-=Vel=- |

At higher levels, the AI get research, energy, production, and terraforming bonuses. But combat is not affected. |

Hey, where do you get all that information from? |
