posted 07-12-99 08:43 AM ET I have not read about it here before, but I guess it just makes sence. I was buying votes last night for planatary gov and I noticed that the computer factions asked if I wanted them to vote for Me (Morgan), Lal or Zak. Sure enough when I called the election Lal and I had the same number of votes (42) and Zak had 64. SO we had a 3 way race for planatary gov.
Sort of neat. Since then I have taken most of Zak's cities, but he had the empath guild in his capitol with about 12 garrisoned units. That one is going to take some time.

I would like the other AI factions to actually vote. They all abstain all the time!!

I have found that they vote if it matters. IF the first 2 are close they (in my games) tend to vote and actually have a bearing on the outcome. I think that they usually don't vote becasue it usually does not matter and they do not want to piss off one of the top 2 factions.

I've seen the AI factions vote even when I have a 10:1 advantage in number of votes. The AI factions don't vote when they hate both of the candidates. By the end of the game, a lot of the factions are at vendetta with everyone.

I've seen a 4-way election before.
Pact brothers will always vote for each other (unless they're both running). Also the AI will usually vote against you if they're at war with you and not the other person.
