I have completed the tech tree and have been elected planatary leader, but the Gaian's rejected my leadership. So here is the question: What infintry, chopper and needlejet should I design to 'convert/concure' them. I have all the SPs and my social choices give me +3 morale.

Just put the biggest and best weapon on them or something else????????

Pretty much mount the strongest weapon on whatever chassis. Try Gravships for a fun time.

Also, if you mount gas pods on a chopper, it can depopulated the largest city in short order............

Yes, I really like drop units after I build the space elevator.

I think a drop singularity troops and speeders are probably the way to go. She has shard weapons and i think armor up to D6.

All the other factions are ignoring me now that I am the planatary supreme leader. That seems odd, but my science city is pulling in about 78 more energy per turn from trade. WOW!

I would take one enemy city, a coastal city, with missiles and marines, then drop troops into that city. I am guessing that you cant just drop troops in due to enemy defenses. Once you have one strategically located city in their territory, and the Space elevator, I would go with large quantities of drop infantry with light armor and heaviest weapons. Or with speeders if the territory is large and the cities widely spaced. Usually the simplest troops in large quantity provide the most firepower. You can probably produce infantry a lot quicker than the enemy can build defenders at this poit in the game.

In the End game you are probably making huge amounts of money, >10 000-15 000. Build units that only take a turn to complete and then upgrade them to something better! I normally have 100-200 in mineral prodution/city and this are the basic troops I create:

*Blink Drop singularity squad 24-12-1(only takes one turn to complete adn has +25% vs base)

*X^Blink singularity Gravship 24-12-16(normally takes a couple of turns to complete, build cheaper Gravships and then upgrade)

*X^Blink singularity chopper 24-12-16(?)(great if enemy bases are close too you also good after you've conquered a base in there territory and they are also excellent as a defense unit. Attack before the enemy attacks you!)

*Singularity PlanetBuster(he he he)

*Drop AAA Garrision 1-12-1(to help defend my newly conquered bases)

I also use hovertanks with varius abilities depending on the situation and the enemy I'm facing. You should of course have the space elevator SP!

Ambro, once you get sing laser (A24) all weapons with a value 1-6 (or maybe 1-12) cost the same, so you can have a Drop AAA Garrison of 6-12-1 for the same cost as the 1-12-1.

It is a little know thihg. All weapons 1/2 or 1/4 or less that your best weapon are the same cost.

Series II: But I always thought the rule was that all weapons up to half the value of the unit's armor had the same cost?

Time to try.

Maybe it is armor value. Either way (armor of waepon) mid to late game you can get any of the less powerful weapons for the same cost.
