It's simple, really. Every other faction (but the Hive) can use the population boom trick with Demo/Planned/creches. Since having a golden age to supposedly give you +6 growth doesn't actually work (a bug, I guess), Morgan can never population boom before the vats.I know it goes against his description in the instruction manual, but if you think of the way Morgan is described in the actual game, his only desire is to suck up all of the planet's energy by any means. So his priority should be wealth, and maybe not let him use power, since he is an industrial guy. As Al Gore Rhythm mentions-- Morgan actual does better with his priority as wealth, because the computer really doesn't know how to manage Free Market (at least not anywhere near to what a human can do).

Good points. Many times I've wished Morgan could use Planned, not just for growth, but for industry, too. Try it out, it might make the game too easy though if you get rid of the population caps as well.PS: What would you ban Morgan from then, Power? I think banning Green would be more appropriate with his character, but would that be better than banning Planned? High Priest In the middle of a Morgan Game as he speaks |

Yeah, I was thinking of banning him from power. I have no intention of removing his population caps, because then he'd need other weaknesses to compensate. It really is a nice strength being able to use demo/green/wealth for the efficiency, economy, and planet ratings, and this is Morgan's strength-- he can research much more per base than anyone else, and with a +4 efficiency can have 19 bases on transcend before additional drones show up. Morgan needs those population caps because +2 economy and +2 industry (with planned/wealth) is really strong, but not unreasonably so. You can still do better research as the Gaians with more bases and better efficiency, and obviously their population/city will be higher. |
