(standard rules, standard map, I am PK at war with Believers, Morgan, peace with everyone else, UoP eradicated. Spartans are superpower)
Mission year 2341
PK report

Operation "Loch Ness"
Top Secret
Your Eyes Only

Phase 1: massive air attack on west front against believers to draw enemy troops away from headquarters.
status: complete success. Five enemy bases conquered.
Phase 2: surprise amphibious assault with chaos invaders against believer headquarters
Plan includes first using probe team to sabotage perimeter defense to ensure superiority of assault
status: postponed. Spartan sea former blocked only path. Believer chaos needlejet destroyed chaos destroyer that was escorting transport. Transport sent to nearest port. waiting for go.

Conclusion: Operation "Loch Ness" if successfull should ensure total victory and the end of the war. If it fails, it could provide a shift in momentum for the enemy.
recommendation: Mission will succeed if the only enemy needlejet is neutralized.

(Any strategy suggestions to help me beat the Believers is appreciated. How many of you give code names to your important military endeavors?)

PK Intelligence Briefing:
Our division of chaos speeders combined with an air assault successfully conquered another enemy base adjacent to the Believer headquarter. One speeder was lost at the hands of the enemy needlejet. The needlejet was promptly taken out by an interceptor. With the last enemy needlejet eliminated, the "go" was given for phase 2 of operation "Loch Ness". The transport, carrying 3 veteran chaos invaders and a probe team, headed for New Jerusalem. As rehearsed, the probe team was stealthly dropped ashored outside the Believer headquarter with the specific target of destroying the perimeter defense. Unfortunately, New jerusalem had advanced security locks which compromised our probe. The probe team was captured. However, High Command gave the order to begin the amphibious assault anyway. Three veteran chaos invaders attacked and defeated a plasma garrison and a chaos squad. New jerusalem was taken by PK forces. Operation "Loch Ness" is a success. We need to secure the base from imminent counter attack. If our forces hold back the counter attack then we estimate a Believer surrender can be expected soon.
At the beginning of this war, the PK faction had 5 bases, the Believers had 19.
We now control 17 bases and have reduced the Believers to 9 bases. The war is not won yet, but we are winning.
The CIAPK (central Intelligence Agency PeaceKeepers) recommends we increase the Spartans to a level 2 threat. Their technology is superior (plasma shard weapons have been detected, our best is chaos guns). Furthermore, they have increased their demands.

year 2365,
PK intelligence briefing:
After the success of Operation "Loch Ness", our forces have captured three more enemy bases. The Believers are now left with five bases and they are cornered. We have discovered "advanced Spaceflight" which has given us a new weapon called the plasma shard. With our recent discovery of the fusion reactor that we have begun to equip on our air force and ground force, our military technology is now superior to the enemies. Once the new trained shard rovers and trained shard squads are produced, our forces should dominate the Believer forces once and for all. However, they remain a potent force, with 10 plasma garrisons and 5 trained chaos squads, chaos rovers and deadly probe teams.
A cease fire was signed with the Believers but negotiations for a permanent peace treaty failed. The Believers did not accept our demands for an unconditional surrender and broke the cease fire with a ferrocious attack that destroyed two needlejets. Our negotiators also have learned that the Believers have declared vendetta on the Spartans. It is unclear how or when the Spartans will respond. Their military intervention should quicken an end to this long and deadly war.
Lastly, the CIAPK report revealed that we have caught up with the Spartan technology. Continuous surveillance of Spartan activity is highly recommended.

Mission Year 2373

Peace News Network breaking news

The war with the Believers is over !

Sister Miriam Godwinson unconditionally surrendered to the Peacekeeper forces. Her once great empire now in total ruins, down to 2 bases, producing no energy at all.
At the official signing of the Pact of surrender, our great leader Lal had this to say:
"Today, children can stop crying, tears can dry up, suffering is over. (applause) Today, we mend broken lives, we fix what tyranny destroyed. (applause) Tommorrow will be a bright day of hope for Peacekeepers as well as Believers. We believe in peace, we believe in freedom. The believers will continue to be able to worship freely. So, let us together claim loud and clear that Chiron will not fall like Earth. We will be one Mankind in peace, in peace!! (standing ovation)."

In other news, our delegation has met with Spartans diplomats and have convinced them to also end their vendetta against the Believers.

This is George Peeky for PNN signing off.

thanks for the tip apcJK. Now to the rest of the game:

Pravin Lal's personal logs,
mission year 2390:
I have begun a massive post-war construction program. All my bases have received orders to build fusion labs, areospace complex, bio labs, energy banks, research hospitals etc... Furthermore, my formers are at 100% building mag tubes between all my bases. When completed, we will have the most impressive network of mag tubes on planet. An entire continent will be connected with tubes.
I have personally been on the comlink with Santiago, Miriam, Yang and Deirdre and have gotten them all to cease their vendettas against each other. Only Morgan and Yang refuse to stop their vendetta. I have a peace treaty with everyone including Morgan, and a pact of course with Miriam. I hope that peace really will flourish now that the fanaticism of Miriam has been put out. I doubt it. I fear that this is just the calm before the storm. Word has just come in that Santiago has declared vendetta on Deirdre. Santiago won't listen to my arguments. I must at least keep the Hive and the Spartans at peace because we are caught in between them geographically and politically, and a conflict between Yang and Santiago could drag the PeaceKeepers into it. If the Hive, Spartans and the PeaceKeepers are drawn into a vendetta , it could be the start of the Second Chiron World War, the last and final battle. I must find a way to bring peace to Mankind, I must find a way to unite the factions behind me as leader, but how...

Please allow your ol' uncle K to teach you a thing or two about probe teams.
First of all, Infiltrate Datalinks before ANY attack, or just as a precaution on a less than Submissive neighbor. If you had, you would have known that a Needlejet would yhave been waiting for you, and you could have had that Destroyer upgrade to AAA(max. possible defence and Morale) waiting to kill it.
Second, you cannot Probe team an enemy's HQ. It'll automatically kill your team.(I assume you meant that the enemies HQ was the city with the HQ facility. If not, then my apologies.)
Third, never target a perimeter defence specifically. Your chances are dismal. Three or four probe teams working from a nearby base can take out the perimeter defence pretty quickly on random sabotage. They might kill a lot of useful facilities, but so will your attack.
Hope this helps your ongoing wars.

Thanks. I know the rule about probe teams and an enemy capital, it just sounded like such a good plan, I did not think about it. It is a good thing that my troops were so much stronger than the Believers, I knew that I would win even without taking out the perimeter defense.
I have an automatic infiltrator because I am the governor and I have the empath guild. How do you think I was able to win so swiftly: I knew everything. I had destroyed her entire airforce, and she did not have doctrine air power, so that needlejet slipped through my check. I guess she got the needlejet from another AI, I can't see how else.

another thing: having an infiltrator in every faction is one of the best single things you can do. The knowledge it gives you is invaluable in war.

Mission year 2444:

Speech to the nation,

"My fellow Peacekeepers,
In the words of a great man, whom I admire much, I will say that this day will live in infamy! As you know, the Hive have engaged in a surprise attack against us using conventional missiles to knock out our defenses and marching in with their infantry. Several bases our either already conquered or destroyed or vulnerable to the next wave. The attack was unprovoked, barbaric and cowardly. We had successfully brought about a time of peace on Chiron. Now, the communist, evil Hive who only care about violence and power have taken peace away. We will fight! (applause) We proved our ability to fight and win against all odds when the fanatic Believers attacked us in similar fashion. We crushed them and we will crush the Hive. (applause) If the Hive have taught us anything in their attack, it is this: Good cannot coexist with Evil. I tried, we tried, we were fools. I thought that I could convince any faction to believe in peace like we do, with the right arguments. I thought that any leader who was intelligent and sane would realize that war is never an option, and that eventually they would change from their ways and embrace freedom and harmony. I no longer believe in peace. I believe that only our faction can live on Planet. Only the Peacekeepers deserve to live. Maybe I have become evil like them, but I don't care. I will not let Evil triumph over Good. I will destroy the Hive and I will destroy any faction who hates freedom. I will no longer give them a chance for peace. I will destroy with planet busters if need be. I don't care. The last battle for peace has begun. It will be bloody and I cry already for all the lost lives but I have no choice. The Hive give us no choice. It is the evil of war that one must kill and destroy or be destroyed. I believe in all of you. I know you will rally behind the ideals of this glorious faction and fight your best."
(the crowd in unison begins to sing the PeaceKeeper anthem:
"O freedom that I cherish,
O peace that I love,
I will gadly perish,
for that beloved dove...")

MY 2468,

It is all over. Thanks to our new gravship with quantum lasers, and with the help of the Spartans we overcame and eradicated the Hive, Morgan and the Gaians who were all allied against us. The Spartans eradicated the believers. Only the PK and the Spartans remain and a peace treaty insures a good relationship. The Voice of Planet is completed and in 10 years the Ascent of transcendance will be done. In two years, I could summon the Council and get myself elected as supreme leader.
To my successor, I give this advice:" Love peace but love it with a sword in your hand.".

I will post the final score when I transcend.
