Most people here keep on saying that cloning vats and the space elevator are the two best secret projects... but I disagree. I mean think about it. they may be the most powerful... but they also come later in the game. I'd say one of the best secret projects is, in fact, the weather Paradigm. Now most of you are probally wondering how this is the best, when cloning vats and the space elevator are so powerful. Well the answer is that with the weather paradigm I can upgrade my bases faster to get more tech, and production faster, and save minerals on support, have bases grow faster because of more food, and be able to spen more money on colony pods instead of formers. All of these advantages will let you go faster up the tech tree, and have more mineral production so that you can get the ultimate secret projects before anyone else even has the tech. The same goes for the merchant exchange and the human genome project (early golden age) Remember, once someone gets an early advantage, he gets more production to make that advantage even bigger Just Tink about it, that's all I want

I agree on the Weather Paradigm, but for different reasons. I like to Borehole Mineral rich and Energy rich squares in the early game. Believe it or not, this circumvents the restrictions, and a Borehole in one of these places allows a player to use the full eight Energy on an Energy rich square, and the full eight Mineral on a Mineral rich square.Plus, I throw on Condensers in arid and moist spots rather than just default and plant forests, so I've got all my Farms producing three Nutrients the instant I get Gene Splicing. Plus with a Condenser/Farm combo on a nutrient square I'm getting seven nutruents out of that square. Being able to use Sea Formers and cut yourself off from direct land access is an invaluable tactic in the early game. i'ts better in the mid to late game is to have a well established infrastructure rather than direct land access. PS. The Command Nexus is the second most usful SP. being able to heal land units at any base is too useful. With the CommandN and the WeatherP, I'm unstoppable. Also, the Command Nexus |

I don't know about most others, but if your playing PK then the EMPATH GUILD gives you the game. You have almost all the votes for everything! Want to melt the icecaps and watch Yang start learning to swim? Fine! |

Don't you only get one vote per faction on ice cap melting? I'm thinking that Empath guild only helps with governor and supreme leader votes, but I can't check on this from work...?I'd have to vote for either WP or Hunter Seeker, I absolutely hate probe teams, particularly if I'm playing UoP, their probe rating usually bites. |

I think the Assent to Transendence is the best wonder. I have never lost a game after building this |

My votes for all periods 'o the game: (Keep in mind I play Sparta, Hive and Believers quite a bit)Early - Command Nexus, all the way. Mid - Ascetic Virtues/Xenoempathy Dome/Cyborg Factory (varies on how the game is going.) Late - Dream Twister |

I research tech's that let me build SP's (and research combat related tech when I have too many SP's to build). The easiest way to win is build all the early SP's since they're the most beneficial, and it is possible to build all the SP's in Transcend w/o cheating (although, I usually miss by 1 or two, Merchant Exchange, Planetary Data). I'm pretty sure anyone who's building the Telepathic Matrix and Cloning Vats can already whip the AI good. I mean, any SP after tech 4 is just fluff to make things a lot easier. . . |
