do ai players ever buy projects. im up to thinker level and i dont think ive ever seen it happen.

I don't remember seeing that happen, but it is possible.

I haven't really given the SMAC AI the opportunity to buy projects - I always do it first. But I've played Civ II for a few years now, and the Civ II AI wasn't afraid to buy Wonders of the World... I imagine SMAC is similar.

i think the ai does. i was playing and was warned that a faction has started an SP... a couple of turns later it was completed. either that city was already building an SP and changed it to another one or the ai bought it!
