Needlejets have enough fuel to remain in the air for 2 turns, can attack once each turn, and crash if they don't make it back to base. In effect, this means your jets can attack every other turn. Copters only have enough fuel to remain outside one turn, but they don't die if they don't make it back, they just take some damage. In addition, they can attack several times each turn (and keep moving) I use Needlejets to strike at enemy bases for a couple of turns while my ground forces approach, and Copters to clear out enemy units that are approaching me. |
