Destroing citys with no trops inside, with population >= 2.

Simple. Once you take the city, have your military unit activated and type 'B' to obliterate the base. I often do this when the stupid AI builds them too close together. BTW, obliterating a just-conquered city is considered an atrocity, so either be prepared to deal with the outrage, or have the UN charter repealed. |

Is there any reason to do so ? If you've killed of all the opposition then you must have units at that border anyway so the chances of it being retaken are small (hopefully). If you don't actually want the city there, then don't enhance it. Let it spend it's time creating Colony Modules. It frees your other cities to do something more constructive. |

On the topic of disbanding, rather than destroying a city, I wondered for a quite a while what good this technique was if the problem was too many cities. If you've got to many already, what good are new ones going to do you? Most of you probably already know the answer, but for the few of you who weren't aware, I'll tell you. You can take a colony pod and instead of building a new city, you can have everybody unload in a pre-existing one. You just hit B when you're parked in a city square.I personally find this hilarious, although useful. I have this image in my mind of Mayor Giuliani addressing the people of New York and saying "Pack up! We're all going to DesMoines." |
