I've been playing SMAC some quite some time now, but I've never figured this out: The AI (The Hive in my case) is building tons of orbital defence pods, and sometimes succeeds in destroying mine. How does he do that? Does he use his own ODPs for that? Or does he use PBs, and then why is it that the game doesn't tell me?

You can attack other factions' sats with your orbital defense pods at the satellite screen.

yes, the difference is deployed pods v. undeployed pods.

I've discovered it now. Boy this is FUN. Finally I can shoot down Yang's Defense Pods!
