What causes energy power overload (where you lose some base enhancement, usually a really needed one), is it a random thing or is there something I can do to prevent it?

When it'shappened to me I've usually seen a message "Build more network nodes" - see the threads on Infiltration tactics where it is also discussed

I had one once when I didn't have enough energy to maintain a facility.

Energy banks prevent energy overloads, not network nodes as googlie notes. I can't remember if overloads cause base facilities to get destroyed of not.
Additionally base facilites are lost when you don't have enough energy to pay to maintain them.

Energy banks do not prevent power overloads directly, but the +50% economy helps give you more money, and therefore less crashes. If only you could build a secret project/facility to prevent energy market crashes.
