I think the SMAC paged is awesome but I HIGHLY recommend live chat. it is pretty anoying when you post a topic and someone replies the next day. To solve this problem instead of posting a topic you could post a room and put the topic as the name of the room then people can come in and you could have live chat.

I agree, that would be a nice feature. But on the other hand, if there were a live chat, people would never leave it :) All the SMACaholics that resides here would have a field-day with a live chat :).

Live chat on this site could well be the end of existance as we know it...... at least for us hardcore SMAC junkies.

So in summary, I'm all for it ! ; )

I agree, a chat, and I would never be able to leave. Some of us just don't have that much will power to actually decide when its time to do something else.

Go to #SMAC on Dalnet. I made a chat a few weeks ago.

No, that won't do at all... that looks like IRC, and IRC doesn't exist in my little world.

What is the problem with IRC?

I don't like it. Doesn't appeal to me. If you like it, cool... I don't. :)

Do you want a Java chat? I can get one.

I'm not really that big on live chat. It's frustrating enough on the forum at times when you want to talk about stuff in the game and nobody else is posting, let alone introducing another medium where even fewer people are likely to show up at any given time... I think the forum is superior in too many ways.
(For starters, it isn't necessary to actually be present for a conversation to participate in it, so you can do stuff like *gasp* leave the house for a few hours, and not miss anything.)

Go to http://www.dal.net/chat/chat.html and type #SMAC in the channel area or go to #SMAC on dalnet using an IRC client suck as mIRC (www.mirc.com).

I made you all a chat, you all say you want a chat, why don't you people come to the chat? I only get a couple people a day to the chat I set up.
