I moved into Minneapolis from one of the surrounding suburbs this past weekend and had to enroll my 10 year old in school. At the "Welcome Center" for Minneapolis Public Schools, I announced that we lived up the street from a middle school and it would be convenient and whatnot...yadda yadda yadda...

They told me that there were no open spots there and I then had to embark on a search of schools in our area that had openings and would suit my daughter's needs...

I was swayed from my first few choices when an assistant int he office recommended a school that was in downtown Minneapolis, but had great programs and, as it turns out, is where the neighbor girl goes to.

Here's the payoff if you stuck with me so far: My daughter, Courtney, will be attneding CHIRON Middle School commencing Sept 1st, 1999. Could ya die?

I almost fell out of the chair when I saw the name.
