Author Topic:   New techs in Alien Crossfire

I was wondering what the new techs were going to be in Al' Cr'.
first, ho are they going to fit them in, cause the tech tree is already complictaed, and if the put in a new tech at the beginning if the gam, it could change the whole way that the tech tree works.
Also, what ither techs could you need, apart form the ones that will give you new secret projects? does this mean that the new techs will be like optical computers, and do nothing at all?
anyway, I would like to hear peoples suggests of names of tech, level of tech tree and what they could bring to the game.
Also, any ideas on secret projects would be great.

There probably will be a tech that enables the new victory path "building the Singularity beacon" (Check the Features section at the AlienCrossfire site, it talks about this new victory path where you build this Beacon to call in reinforcements) I assume that this victory path is just for the Aliens as they are the only ones that can call for reinforcements, who would the Human factions call for reinforcements since Earth is destroyed?

That is what I meant. If everybody on Earth is dead then the AC factions can't call home for reinforcements.

It could be like in the end of Final Fantasy 7 and alot of Indian dogs come out of nowhere and save them though.

There has never been said, that there is no one left on earth. They just weren't able to contact them and therefore believed in their lone fate. But perhaps, with this new transmitter, you will be able to reach someone... Of course you have to wait about 40 years until reinforcements will arive. So, this might be possible.
Oh, and btw, I linked the disableb special abylity "Heavy Transports" to Optical Computers as I found no reason why it was disabled or why Optical Computers should be worthless.

You people overlooked the obvious on the Singularity Beacon. Its for the aliens that are coming back to the planet. They can not transcend because they are not human. The humans are the only ones who transcend. The Singularity Beacon is the alien equivalent of Transcending. What they mean by reinforcements is aliens coming to help out colonize Planet.
