Does anyone know if there is a Linux version of SMAC in development? And if so, will those of us who own the Win32 version need to purchase it again?

There's some kind of emulator out there called wine. It lets you run Win32 apps in Linux. I haven't even downloaded it or tried any programs, and the results depend highly on the app, but it might be a way to avoid paying again.
As far as native Linux, paying again is guaranteed, unless you find/steal/acquire the source and port it yourself. Again, this is something I wouldn't know much about. I only got Linux 3 weeks ago. Compare this to the time it's been out, and there's alot of ground to cover.
