OK, here's the setup- playing as the Gaians, I had some pre-boil mindworms at the tip of an "L" shaped fungus patch. I hit "P" (for patrol), clicked on the corner of the "L", hit the spacebar, clicked the corner again, hit the spacebar again, clicked my worms, hit spacebar, and BOOM! The pre-boil worms turned into a demon boil! Cool, eh?

Oh, and if someone could tell me how to patrol correctly, it'd be greatly appreciated.

This is a known bug. It happens whenever you patrol with 3 or more waypoints.
